Spritz and Aperitivo: The Italian Art of Living Life Slowly

Spritz and Aperitivo: The Italian Art of Living Life Slowly

Discover the secret behind Italy's most beloved ritual, learn about all the spritz variations (from classic Aperol to the mysterious Cynar), and understand the difference between aperitivo and apericena. This isn't just a drink - it's a lifestyle that celebrates the art of taking time, enjoying the moment and being together.

Read more to master Italian aperitivo culture...

If you've ever been in Italy around 6-7 PM in the evening, you've probably noticed something magical happening. The streets fill with people holding colorful drinks, chatting animatedly and enjoying small bites - this is the sacred Italian tradition called aperitivo!

What is aperitivo really?

Aperitivo isn't just a drink - it's a lifestyle, a philosophy, a ritual that celebrates the transition from work to leisure. The word comes from Latin "aperire" meaning "to open" - the idea is to open the appetite before dinner with a bitter drink and light snacks.

But aperitivo is so much more than just food and drink. It's about taking time, meeting friends, enjoying the moment. Unlike other cultures where we often rush home after work, Italians stop and celebrate the end of the workday together.

Spritz - the king of aperitivo drinks

And what drink counts as the ultimate aperitivo drink? Spritz of course! This iconic drink has its roots in Venice and the Veneto region, but has conquered all of Italy (and the world).

The classic Spritz recipe:

3 parts Prosecco

2 parts bitter (Aperol or Campari)

1 splash of sparkling water

Ice cubes and an orange slice

But here comes the fun part - there are many variations!

Aperol Spritz 🧡

The most popular version with its beautiful orange color. Aperol is sweeter and milder, perfect for those who don't love bitter flavors. This is the "beginner's spritz" and the most Instagram-friendly!

Campari Spritz ❤️

For those who like it more intense! Campari has a stronger, more bitter taste and gives the drink a deep red color. This is for aperitivo experts who aren't afraid of character.

Cynar Spritz 🖤

Made with Cynar (an artichoke bitter), this version has a darker color and a unique, earthy taste. Less known, but definitely worth trying!

Hugo Spritz 🌿

A "northern" variant that's popular in South Tyrol, made with elderflower syrup, mint and lime instead of bitter. Fresher and more floral.

Limoncello Spritz 🍋

Perfect for summer, made with limoncello instead of bitter. Sweet, fresh and sunshine in a glass!

*The most widespread and authentic are Aperol and Campari Spritz. The other variations aren't found everywhere, so don't be surprised if the bartender doesn't know them!

Aperitivo vs Apericena - the difference that changes everything

Aperitivo is the traditional version: a drink with some olives, nuts, chips or small bruschetta. The point is to stimulate the appetite before you go home for dinner.

Apericena (aperitivo + cena/dinner) is a modern evolution that has become incredibly popular, especially among younger Italians and in cities like Milan. Here aperitivo becomes a whole meal! The bars serve rich buffets with pasta dishes, salads, meat, cheese - everything you need for a complete dinner. You pay for the drink and get access to the buffet "for free."

The Italian aperitivo culture

Timing is everything

Aperitivo has its sacred hours: usually between 6:00-8:00 PM. Before that is too early, after that... well, then it's dinner time!

The social aspect

Italians never meet just for "a drink." They meet to talk, laugh, discuss everything from football to politics to family drama. The drink is just the excuse to be together.

It's not just for evenings

Weekends can include "aperitivo lunch" - yes, spritz at 12 PM on a Sunday is completely acceptable!

Why we all need more aperitivo in our lives

In our busy world, we could learn a lot from Italian aperitivo culture:

Slowness: Instead of stressing to get home, Italians take time to decompress.

Community: Aperitivo is about being together, not just about drinking alcohol.

Enjoyment: It's about savoring the small moments, tasting life.

Balance: Aperitivo marks a clear transition between work and leisure.

Create your own aperitivo experience at home

You don't need to be in Italy to enjoy aperitivo culture:

Set a time - make it a daily ritual

Make a simple spritz - Prosecco, Aperol, sparkling water

Prepare some snacks - olives, nuts, cheese, salami

Invite friends - or enjoy it alone as a meditative pause

Turn off your phone - this is time to be present

Aperitivo etiquette for tourists

If you visit Italy and want to experience authentic aperitivo:

Don't sit at a table unless you're going to eat food - stand at the bar like the locals

Order spritz with confidence - "Un Aperol Spritz, per favore!"

Snack in moderation - if there's a buffet, don't load up your plate as if it were dinner

Take your time - aperitivo isn't something you rush through

Be social - Italians are friendly, don't be afraid to chat

The perfect Italian evening

Imagine this: You're in a charming Italian city, the sun is beginning to set, and you're standing at a bar with a perfect Aperol Spritz in your hand. People are talking and laughing around you, and for a moment you feel the Italian lifestyle - where life isn't about chasing time, but about enjoying the moment.

This is the magic of aperitivo. It's not just a drink or a snack - it's a reminder to live life with taste, style and community. Salute! 🥂

Campari Spritz ❤️

Mindre kjent, men absolutt verdt å prøve!

Hugo Spritz 🌿

Limoncello Spritz 🍋

Aperitivo-etikette for turister

Salute! 🥂

The Infiorata: Italy's Most Spectacular Flower Carpet Tradition

The Infiorata is an ancient Italian tradition where communities create elaborate carpets and intricate designs using millions of fresh flower petals.

Imagine walking through the cobblestone streets of an Italian town, only to discover that the entire road has been transformed into a breathtaking work of art made entirely of flower petals. This is the magic of the Infiorata, one of Italy's most enchanting and ephemeral traditions that turns ordinary streets into extraordinary canvases of natural beauty.

What is the Infiorata?

The Infiorata is an ancient Italian tradition where communities create elaborate carpets and intricate designs using millions of fresh flower petals. These temporary masterpieces cover entire streets, piazzas, and stairways, transforming urban spaces into open-air galleries that exist for just a few precious hours.

What makes this tradition so remarkable is its fleeting nature. Artists and volunteers work to create these stunning displays, knowing that they will be walked upon, weathered by the elements, and ultimately swept away. It's a beautiful metaphor for life itself – creating something magnificent that exists purely in the moment.

The Origins and History

The Infiorata tradition has deep roots in Italian religious and cultural history, dating back to the 13th century. The practice began in Rome around 1625, when Vatican flower masters started decorating St. Peter's Basilica with flower petals during the feast of Saints Peter and Paul.

The tradition was particularly influenced by the Corpus Domini (Corpus Christi) celebrations, where communities would honor the Eucharist by creating beautiful paths for religious processions. Over time, this sacred practice evolved to include secular celebrations and artistic expressions, spreading throughout Italy and becoming a cherished part of local identity.

Where to Experience the Infiorata

While many Italian towns celebrate their own version of the Infiorata, several locations have become legendary for their spectacular displays:

Genzano di Roma (Lazio) is considered the birthplace of the modern Infiorata. Every June, the town's main street transforms into a 2-kilometer-long carpet of intricate floral designs. The tradition here dates back to 1778, making it one of the oldest continuous celebrations.

Noto, Sicily hosts one of the most photographed Infioratas in Italy. The baroque steps of the Cathedral of San Nicolò become a canvas for elaborate designs that perfectly complement the town's UNESCO World Heritage architecture.

Spello, Umbria creates one of the most artistic Infioratas, with designs that often incorporate complex religious and secular themes. The medieval streets provide a stunning backdrop for these colorful creations.

In our little town Diano Marina the Infiorata this year is 22 june (2025) and you will have to get up early to admire the magnificently decorated streets because after the mass in the main church (starting at 10) there is a procession that walks on the decorated streets.

The Art Behind the Petals

Creating an Infiorata is an incredibly labor-intensive process that requires months of planning and preparation. Communities begin collecting flower petals weeks in advance, carefully drying and storing them to ensure the colors remain vibrant. Roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, and other flowers are sorted by color and stored in climate-controlled environments.

The designs themselves are often works of art that rival any museum piece. Teams of artists create detailed sketches and stencils, then transfer these designs to the streets using chalk or other temporary materials. The actual laying of petals is a precise process – each color must be placed carefully to create the desired effect, with different techniques used to achieve various textures and depth.

Some artists use a technique called "spolvero," where they pounce powdered charcoal or chalk through perforated paper to transfer designs. Others work freehand, treating the street as their canvas and the petals as their paint.

A Community Celebration

What makes the Infiorata truly special is how it brings communities together. Entire neighborhoods participate in the creation process – children help sort petals, adults work through the night to complete designs, and elderly residents share stories and techniques passed down through generations.

The tradition fosters a sense of collective pride and belonging that's becoming increasingly rare in our modern world. For a few days each year, communities unite around a common goal: creating something beautiful together.

The Philosophy of Ephemeral Beauty

There's something profoundly Italian about the Infiorata tradition – the idea that beauty doesn't need to be permanent to be meaningful. These flower carpets embody the Italian concept of "la bella figura" (making a beautiful impression) while embracing the transient nature of life.

The tradition teaches us to appreciate beauty in the moment, to invest our time and energy in creating something wonderful even if it won't last forever. It's a celebration of process over product, community over individual achievement, and art over commerce.

Experiencing Your First Infiorata

If you're planning to experience an Infiorata, timing is everything. Most celebrations occur between May and June, often coinciding with religious festivals or local patron saint celebrations. The flower carpets are typically completed overnight and revealed at dawn, creating a magical moment when the town awakens to find its streets transformed.

Arrive early to see the designs in their full glory, as they're often walked upon during religious processions or gradually weathered by foot traffic and wind. Bring a camera, but also take time to simply observe and appreciate the incredible artistry and dedication that goes into each creation.

Keeping the Tradition Alive

In our increasingly digital world, the Infiorata represents something irreplaceable – a hands-on tradition that connects us to our history, our communities, and the natural world. Many towns are working to ensure these celebrations continue for future generations, often combining traditional techniques with modern organizational methods.

The tradition also serves as a powerful reminder of Italy's incredible cultural wealth. Beyond the famous museums and monuments, Italy's true treasures often lie in these living traditions that continue to bring communities together and create moments of shared wonder.

Final Thoughts

The Infiorata is more than just a festival – it's a celebration of Italian values that many of us could learn from. The willingness to create beauty for its own sake, the importance of community collaboration, and the acceptance of impermanence all reflect a deeply Italian approach to life.

Whether you're already planning your next trip to Italy or simply dreaming of experiencing this magical tradition, the Infiorata offers a unique window into the heart of Italian culture. It reminds us that sometimes the most beautiful experiences are those that exist only in memory, preserved not in museums but in the stories we tell and the traditions we keep alive.

Infiorata: Italias mest spektakulære blomstertepper-tradisjon

L’infiorata Diano Marina, Blomsterteppe

Å holde tradisjonen i live

That’s why we created a free Milan guide filled with places we actually go to — from cozy trattorias to quiet sunset spots and even a few weird secrets you’d never find on your own.

Here’s a little taste...

🌆 Places to Wander

We’re all for the big sights — the top of the Duomo is absolutely worth the climb — but Brera is the district that truly stole our hearts. Between pastel houses, hidden courtyards, and botanical gardens, it feels like a city inside the city.

And then there’s Navigli — yes, it’s lively and popular, but if you know where to look (we do), there are corners that still whisper old Milan. Let’s just say there’s a cobblestone alley with a very poetic name we won’t spoil here...

🍝 Where to Eat (Like You Live Here)

We’re a little obsessed with Milanese food.
We’re talking risotto giallo, cotoletta, and warm bowls of comfort in places where nonna could easily be cooking in the back.

A few of our go-to spots:

  • A rustic osteria with real charm (and prices locals actually pay)

  • A hidden garden restaurant just outside the center

  • A rooftop place with city views and a surprisingly calm vibe

Want the full list with names, addresses, and our favorite dishes? It’s all in the guide 💌

🎨 Unexpected Art & Secret Spaces

Yes, Milan has amazing museums (and we list our top 5 in the guide), but what about:

  • A chapel filled with bones (eerie but beautiful)

  • A maze inspired by the Epic of Gilgamesh

  • A rainbow-colored street that looks like it’s from a fairytale

We’re not naming names here — some things are better discovered with a bit of mystery 😉

Villa Faraldi – Kunstnerlandsbyen i olivenlundene

Farinata – En deilig ovnsbakt kikertpannekake.

A Home of Music, Light, and Milanese Charm

In the heart of Milan, where history meets modernity, lies a stunning early 20th-century building that has been home to countless stories—and melodies. Nestled within this historic gem are three beautifully renovated Airbnb apartments, lovingly designed by Simone, who grew up within these very walls, and his wife Nina, a Norwegian singer. Together, this duo has infused the space with the perfect harmony of light, art, and music.

A Building with History and Heart

From its elegant façade to its doorman welcoming you in the mornings, the building reflects Milan’s timeless sophistication. Rising to the fifth floor, where sunlight streams through large windows, you’ll find three distinct apartments, each with its own unique soul. These homes are not just spaces to stay—they’re invitations to experience the artistry and warmth of Milan, brought to life by two passionate hosts.

Simone has known these halls since childhood, where the echoes of his first piano notes still seem to linger. Today, those melodies intertwine with the city’s heartbeat, inspiring the music he creates with Nina. Their compositions, like the building itself, are rooted in the city’s bustling life and serene corners.

Three Apartments, Three Personalities

Every apartment reflects a different story, crafted to offer comfort, creativity, and a touch of Nina and Simone’s artistic world.

  1. Mid-Century Elegance
Step into an apartment that feels like stepping into Milan’s golden era of design. Vintage finds, lovingly sourced by Ros (N&S’s wonderful co host) from from local markets, create a nostalgic yet modern vibe. The romantic boiserie and a practical sofa bed in the living room invite you to relax, while the bedroom's eclectic charm inspires quiet reflection or creative musings.

  2. Scandinavian Minimalism
This bright, airy apartment mirrors Nina’s Nordic roots with its clean lines, natural wood furnishings, and soft, whimsical art by Norwegian artist Lisa Aisato. A cozy balcony overlooking the rooftops is perfect for sipping cappuccinos in the morning or enjoying sparkling aperitivos as the sun sets.

  3. Colorful Eclectic Charm
For those who love vibrant spaces, this apartment mixes tradition with a playful twist. Bold blues and romantic pinks create a lively atmosphere, complemented by modern conveniences like a fully equipped kitchen and even a classic guitar for impromptu jam sessions.

Music and Art at the Heart of It All

Nina and Simone’s creativity goes beyond their hospitality. Their music, inspired by the rhythms of Milan, weaves into every corner of the apartments. Imagine listening to “Funk Off,” a lively ode to the city’s bustling energy, while planning your day’s adventures. Or unwind in the serenity of “The Fairy Forest,” a track born of Milan’s tranquil parks, as you relax in your Scandinavian-inspired apartment. And as the sunlight dances through the windows, you may find yourself humming along to “Frammenti di Luce,” that inspired the very rooms you’re staying in.

Adding another layer of artistry, the walls are adorned with works by Simone’s father, Medagliani Eugenio, and Simone’s own photographic masterpieces. These touches make the apartments not just a place to stay but a gallery of Milanese creativity.

Come Stay with Nina & Simone

Whether you’re drawn to the elegance of mid-century design, the tranquility of Scandinavian minimalism, or the vibrant energy of colorful eclecticism, you’ll find a home here that resonates with your soul. And as you explore Milan, let Nina and Simone’s music be your guide—a soundtrack to the unforgettable experience awaiting you.

Casa Rosy: A Place to Feel at Home in Liguria

Hi friends,
I have some wonderful news to share, and I’m bursting with gratitude and happiness! Just two days ago, I received confirmation that Casa Rosy has maintained its Superhost status on Airbnb. Not only that, but we’ve also been recognized with the badges of "Guest Favorites" and are in the Top 1% of homes based on evaluations, reviews, and reliability. This incredible feedback from our guests means the world to me—it’s a heartfelt reminder that the vision Simone and I had when creating Casa Rosy is truly coming to life.

When we first opened the doors to Casa Rosy, my dream was simple: I wanted to create a space where people could relax, connect, and feel at home—a true sanctuary during their holiday in Italy. Life can be hectic, and I know we all face challenges, but having a place where you can unwind, recharge, and enjoy simple joys with loved ones is priceless.

At Casa Rosy, this is what we aim to offer.

Picture this: you’re sipping a glass of wine (or maybe a soothing cup of tea), sharing laughter, stories, or even a song (we do have a guitar!). The terrace at Casa Rosy becomes a magical space in the evenings, softly lit by string lights, where families and friends come together to connect and create beautiful memories. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a relaxing retreat in Liguria, Casa Rosy is designed to make you feel at home.

During the day, Casa Rosy is the perfect base for exploring all that Diano Marina and the surrounding Ligurian Riviera have to offer. We’re just 150 meters from the beach, where you can bask in the Mediterranean sun, play in the waves, or take a refreshing swim in the sea. If you love nature, the hills nearby are perfect for a hike, offering breathtaking views of Liguria’s coastline. For those drawn to history and charm, the area is dotted with enchanting medieval villages—each one a treasure trove of cobblestone streets, timeless architecture, and local flavors that are impossible to resist.

View from our favorite hike, Parco del Ciapà, just next to the medival village of Cervo and 4 km from Casa Rosy

Our apartment itself was completely renovated in 2023 and combines modern comfort with a welcoming atmosphere. Nestled in a peaceful yet central area of Diano Marina, it’s shielded from busy roads while still being close to everything you need. Casa Rosy features two bedrooms, a cozy living area, a small laundry room, and a bathroom. And let’s not forget the spacious terrace and private parking, which make your stay even more convenient and relaxing.

For me, though, the heart of Casa Rosy is the terrace. Whether you’re enjoying breakfast in the morning sun, reading a book in the afternoon shade, or soaking in the peaceful evening air with a glass of wine, it’s a space that invites you to slow down and savor the moment.

When guests tell me they’ve had a wonderful stay or that they felt at home here, it fills my heart with joy. That’s what this journey is all about: creating a space where people feel truly welcomed, where they can create lasting memories with their loved ones, and where life’s stresses fade into the background—at least for a while.

If you’ve stayed at Casa Rosy, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of this journey. Your kind words, glowing reviews, and heartwarming stories mean everything to us.

And if you’re considering visiting, we can’t wait to welcome you. Come for the beach holidays in Liguria, the scenic hikes, the charm of Diano Marina, or the medieval villages that make this region so special. Or simply come to sit on the terrace, light the lanterns, and let the calm wash over you.

Here’s to creating a space where joy, connection, and relaxation thrive.

With love and gratitude,
Nina (and Simone)

The Italian Coffee Culture: A Ritual Worth Savoring

One of the most delightful parts of experiencing Italy isn't just the art, the architecture, or the picturesque landscapes — it's the ritual of coffee. Coffee here isn't just a beverage; it's a slice of Italian life. Whether you're staying in one of our Airbnb properties or strolling through the streets, knowing how to enjoy coffee the Italian way can make your stay even richer.

Here's your guide to embracing coffee culture like a true Italian.

1. It’s All About the Bar

In Italy, coffee is rarely consumed on the go. Instead, locals flock to the bar (not to be confused with a pub!) to sip their espresso standing at the counter. You might hear greetings, quick conversations, and the clink of porcelain cups. It's a social ritual: quick, efficient, and very Italian.

💡 Tip: Order your coffee at the counter and drink it standing up — it's usually cheaper and a more authentic experience!

2. Know Your Coffee Types

If you're used to ordering elaborate drinks, Italian coffee might seem minimalist. Here are the key options:

  • Espresso (or simply caffè): A small, strong shot of coffee — the heart of Italian coffee culture.

  • Cappuccino: Espresso with steamed milk and froth. Italians only drink this in the morning.

  • Macchiato: An espresso "stained" with a dash of milk.

  • Caffè Lungo: An espresso with a bit more water, making it slightly milder.

  • Caffè Deca: Decaf espresso.

💡 Tip: Avoid ordering a latte — unless you want a glass of milk!

3. Timing is Everything

Coffee etiquette in Italy is about when you drink certain types of coffee:

☀️ Morning: Cappuccino or caffè latte
🌙 After Meals: Strictly espresso — to help with digestion.

If you order a cappuccino after lunch, expect some raised eyebrows!

4. The Ritual of Paying

In most bars, you'll first pay for your coffee at the cash register and then present the receipt to the barista. A polite "Buongiorno" or "Grazie" goes a long way!

💡 Tip: Don't forget to leave a small coin for the barista if you feel the service was particularly good.

5. Slow Down and Enjoy

The beauty of Italian coffee culture lies in its simplicity. Italians drink coffee in small, strong doses, but they savor the experience. Take a moment to pause, watch the locals, and immerse yourself in the atmosphere.

https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/diegogentaninaandsimone/frammenti-di-luce

Testo / Lyrics:

Frammenti di luce

Sto cercando gli altri pezzi di me

So che uno di questi sei te

Frammenti di luce si ricompongono

Brilliamo insieme, ritrovarmi in te

Ahead of time and space and gravity

I was you and you were me and then

A great big bang made space and time

Light shattered into thousand shards

that lodged in everything and everywhere

Echoes of eternity

I’ve been looking for you ever since

Once upon a time

There was a timeless light

Shining bright

Expanding to its peak

And blew up into a thousand rays of light

Seeding life and all the universe

Ahead of time and space and gravity

I was you and you were me and then

A great big bang made space and time

Light shattered into thousand shards

that lodged in everything and everywhere

Echoes of eternity

and I’ve been looking for you ever since

Frammenti di luce

Io e te

Il tuo sguardo nel mio

Finalmente sei qui

The Italian composer Diego Genta and the duo Nina & Simone has released their new single “Frammenti di luce” Out Now!

“This song was born serendipitously. I had been improvising on the piano in the evening, playing this little piece of a melody, but didn’t really think much about it until Nina called me in the morning saying she would love to make a new song together, and she loved the riff from the day before, and thereafter the song almost made itself.” - Diego Genta

Let's go out

Let’s go out”, our new song is created in response to this time of upheaval: we wanted to create an uplifting song, an invitation to take time to relax. go out in nature and silence.

“Let’s go out” il nostro nuovo inedito vuole essere un invito a staccare totalmente ogni tanto.

Prendersi un giorno da vivere in leggerezza, offline, all’aria aperta.

Siamo completamente circondati da notizie sconvolgenti; virus, guerra e cambiamenti climatici.

La stabilità mentale, la nostra serenità è messa a dura prova.

“Let’s go out”, our new song is created in response to this time of upheaval. We are continuously bombarded with devastating news; virus, war, climate change. Our mental health, our serenity is at risk. We wanted to create an uplifting song, an invitation to take time to relax. go out in nature and silence.

Being out in nature, enjoying time together, changes our perception of the world, anchoring us in the present moment. Coming home to ourselves in this way helps us to see solutions and to be action oriented in the here and now (as opposed to continuously playing worst case scenarios in our heads leading to apathy and hopelessness..)

“Maglietta, jeans e scarponcini

Abbiamo tutti e due bisogno di staccare

Sentire il silenzio parlare,

Camminando chiariremo i nostri desideri

La nostra mappa per il futuro”
— Let's go out Nina & Simone

Lyrics:

Pack a bag

and bring the sunscreen

don’t forget that book you rave about

Let’s go to that gelato place

It's unforgettable

Hey, come along

let’s go out

we’ll take it cool and just relax

the whole day

to unwind

and just hang out

together

zabaglione,

stracciatella

crema, torrrone, vaniglia e caffè

daydreaming’s better with gelato

creamy cold delight

T shirt jeans and walking boots

we both need a break

Hear the Silence speak, walking, working out our longings

Our future map

Hey, come along

Stardust Lyrics / Testo

Vedo solo demoni

Chiuso nella stanza

Mi sono girato un altra volta

Perché

Ripenso gli altri giorni

Non stavo così

Bene dentro questo letto

Un altro temporale

È venerdì

Mi perdo spesso

In una foto

Non è facile

Pensarla come un gioco

Scatto un altra foto

Per bloccare il momento

Non rincorrere il tempo

Vorrei

toccare col cielo la mano

In un altro modo

Andare lontano

Viaggiare e cadere pian piano

Verso l’ignoto

Mi piace avere addosso

Un po’ di peso in più

Mi devo far valere

Sogno di volare

So used to playing small

It’s time for a change

Even if I fall

I'll rise up again

Shoot for the moon

Land among the stars

Stardust

Stardust

Polvere di stelle

Young star

Non avevo un euro in tasca

Per me,

Puntare la luna non basta

Una runa mi prenderà il cuore

Perso per 24h

Non avevo più direzione

Come i versi di questa canzone

Non vedo più demoni

Tu che mi dici si

Non sto a rincorrerti

Avere paura di un giorno

Aiuta a non sciogliersi

E se mi vedessi dentro

Sapresti come son messo

Non mi ricordo me stesso

Un buco nel petto

Non sono più nel mio letto

Ma adesso.....

So used to playing small

It’s time for a change

Even if I fall

I'll rise up again

Shoot for the moon

Land among the stars

Gaia

 GAIA lyrics

Shades of blue , as far as eyes can see

Bright sky above calm sea below

I feel her warmth

and quiet gaze

She knows we’ll find

deep in our hearts

the map she gave us

Taking care of each other

open hearted and allowing

our true nature  that is made of

Love

Shades of green enclosed by dry stone walls

Soft blowing breeze ancient olive trees

Whispering gently

In the silence

They all

tell the same tale

We all are One

Grasshoppers, ladybirds and seagulls

Sage , rosemary and thyme

hum in unison

We all are part of Her

Grasshoppers, ladybirds and seagulls

Sage , rosemary and thyme

hum in unison

We all are part of Her

GAIA testo tradotto in italiano

Sfumature di blu, fino a perdita d’occhio

Cielo terso sopra, mare calmo sotto

Sento il suo calore

e lo sguardo calmo

Lei sa che troveremo

nel profondi dei nostri cuori

la mappa che ci ha dato

prendendoci cura l’un l’altro

a cuore aperto

 permettendo

sussurrano gentilmente

nel silenzio

raccontano lo stesso racconto

Siamo tutti uno

Cavallette, coccinelle e gabbiani

Salvia, rosmarino e timo

canticchiano dolcemente in unisono

Siamo tutti parte di lei

Clouds

Clouds Leonardo Nina&Simone daavynci.jpg

Clouds

Alone out here in the jungle

Barefoot and soaking wet

The Rain Just stopped pouring

Dark clouds are floating away

I thought I was broken

It felt so dark and cold

and then I remembered

emotions are fleeting as clouds

I know, the sun will, come back

After the storm

'cause I keep falling

but get up again and again

I’m weird and I’m worthy

flaws and brilliance and all

I’ll rise to the occasion

rainstorm or sun I’ll be fine

Alone out here in the jungle

Barefoot and soaking wet

The Rain Just stopped pouring

Dark clouds are floating away

I know, the sun will, come back

After the storm

 'cause I keep falling

but get up again and again

Nuvole

Da sola qui fuori nella giungla

a piedi nudi e bagnata fradicia

Ha appena smesso di diluviare

Nuvole scure stanno scivolando via

Mi sentivo a pezzi

tutto sembrava così cupo e freddo

poi mi sono ricordata che

le emozioni sono mutevoli come le nuvole

So che il sole tornerà

dopo la tempesta

perchè continuo a cadere

perchè continuo a cadere

ma mi rialzo sempre

A song for dark times

Our new song, born after reflecting on this year that has been so difficult for everyone, with the hope that we all find the silverlinings in midts of darkness.

Lyrics

Song for Dark Times

Faceless eyes

All else is hidden

Wary, we’re keeping distance

Scared and lonely

Something strange,

Holds us hostage

Streets are empty around me

I’m lost in silence

Time

To heal

Time for the soul

To deepen

I’m all alone

I’ll hold you

The sound of joy

Will find you

In midst of darkness

There’s a journey of light

A silver lining

Is found inside it all

Forced to stay

We’re slaves of fear

Wonder what truly matters

In these dark times?

Time

To heal

Time for the soul

To deepen

I’m all alone

I’ll hold you

The sound of joy

Will find you

In midst of darkness

There’s a journey of light

A silver lining

Is found inside it all

In midst of darkness

There’s a journey of light

A silver lining

Is found inside it all

In midst of darkness

There’s a journey of light

A silver lining

Is found inside it all

“The Final countdown” Europe, jazz cover

Intenso

You're dressed like a Dandy, no one charms like you do

I know you can't be trustedBut I can't help but do

You’re smile is big and warm.

We’re laughing and having fun

Looks so good, but it's not real

I should have known

Trust, hope and faith are all well and good indeed

thanks to you I know, I've also other needs

I've learned my lesson now

Can't be deceived like that no more

Dignity, boundaries

That's the new me

I,’ve had so many signs

that said keep your distance here

my body tensed up

I knew this would be crap

intuition told me not to,

but my mind said no, don't worry

and now I’m here,

deceived I fear

Yeah yeah

I knew it would be

a lesson needed for me

I knew that, I knew that already

I knew it would be

a lesson needed for me

I let go, I let go I choose to.

I know you're not all ba-ad

but you sure did make me mad

It's brand new day

and I choose a new way

I forgive, I’ve learned my lesson

You're free and so am I

I'm alright , we're made of light

Yeah yeah

Trust, hope and faith are all well and good indeed

thanks to you I know, I've also other needs

I've learned my lesson now

Can't be deceived like that no more

Dignity, boundaries

Yes, that's me

ONLY LOVE, ONLY LOVE IS REAL

ONLY LOVE, ONLY LOVE IS REAL
